RED CROSS LOGO

The Red Cross Logo is a representation of a physical item, place, or person that is a part of the Red Cross Organization and means safety zone, medical facility, medical help, etc. The use of this symbol is protected by law by many different treaties; the most well known treaty is the Geneva Convention of 1864. The Red Cross logo is seen many places and is used widely for purposes of war and disaster relief efforts.

In all cases, when you see a Red Cross logo on the side of a vehicle, that vehicle is a part of the Red Cross Organization. They could be transporting injured people, transporting medical supplies, or anything else. But, the vehicle itself is a part of the Red Cross.

If you see a building or a site with the Red Cross logo on it then that means that location could be a makeshift hospital, an actual hospital, a safety zone, or any other facility for the Red Cross. The Red Cross logo does not have to be from the Red Cross and if you have to make your own, it is asked the Red Cross be on a White background and be as close to the actual Red Cross logo as possible. This is for your protection so there is not any confusion and no one could say they had no idea it was a Red Cross flag.

If you see individuals wearing something with the Red Cross logo on them, that means they are most likely volunteers of the Red Cross providing humanitarian efforts to people in need. If you need help, you can probably ask them and they can take you to a shelter, assist or guide you to what you need.

The Red Cross logo being used in war zones usually means it is a place for medical attention and a safety zone.

The Red Cross logo should never be misused and if you need to make your own, it should be as close to the real thing as possible to eliminate confusion. The Red Cross logo is a symbol for the Red Cross Organization to mark vehicles, sites, buildings, and people for their safety and for others.
